My Review of Bounce House by Reggie Ridgway @ReggieRidgway
Bounce House (copyright 2011) by Reggie Ridgway is a short story about a broken family trying to pick up the pieces and carry on as best they can. The mother, Emma, is determined to host a special birthday party for her five year old daughter, Marcie, despite challenges such as a grueling job as a nurse in the ER that leaves her exhausted, financial woes, an ex-husband in the wings, and a storm brewing off the Pensacola coastline.
With the help of her best friend and her son, Brent, she begins to pull the party together despite the winds that have picked up. The Bounce House arrives, along with a clown who unloads a helium tank to inflate balloons and make balloon animals. What happens next is a thrilling roller coaster as Brent disappears along with the Bounce House, the storm hits, news teams arrive, and the ex-husband, Matt, returns from his Doctors Without Borders assignment to join in the search.
Would I read another book by Mr. Ridgway, definitely! He writes in a believable, heart-warming style that quickly details setting, character, and events. I recommend this story if you want to read an exciting and uplifting tale.
