40,000 Words and Counting to NaNoWriMo
That’s where I sit, 40,000 words. Do I have 10,000 more in me? Will I be spouting gibberish by the time I get to 48,000 words, just putting words down that I find in the dictionary to make up the last of my …. no, wait (slaps face) I can do this! I like what I’ve got so far and there is no room for gibberish. Silly me. *breathe*
This month has been an interesting one for me. Each day I begin writing at 7:00 a.m. and I continue to write until around 2:00 p.m. when my daughter comes home from school. Some days the time is spent re-reading what was written already to see if the consistency is there, or if there are gaps that need filling. Other days are full-on creating. I took one day to listen to an hour-long webinar from Writer’s Digest on “Seven Secrets of Successful Self Published Authors” with Keith Ogorek, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Author’s Solution and publishing partner with Writer’s Digest. It was inspiring and a very necessary “distraction,” shall we say, to my writing.
I seem to be at my best in the morning with no distractions; where are you at your best?
